The Big Picture is a community project which aims to create the biggest painting in the UK and regenerate an area of wasteland in Herne Bay.

 

The design will celebrate aspects of Herne Bay's little known history, especially the the Dawn Horse - a fossil that dates back 54 million years and is evidence of the world's first horse!

 

Artist, Claire Knights was inspired to create a record breaking painting on the old Astro Turf pitch of the Herne Bay Hockey Club to celebrate this amazing story.

 

Working collaboratively with artists from Beach Creative and the local community this will be a fun summer event and a new landmark for the next year on the Kent coast.

 

Everyone is encouraged to come along and add their own creative ideas to the project.
